"Genshiken, Vol. 1" is the first volume of the cult "slice of life" comedy manga series. The book tells the story of university students joining the "Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture"—better known as Genshiken. It is a sanctuary for all fans of otaku (anime, manga, video games, and cosplay) culture. The main character, Kanji Sasahara, is a shy and quiet student who finds his kindred spirits here. This manga perfectly captures the otaku lifestyle, features subtle humor, and depicts genuine friendship.
